There it was
in such perfect sight
laying there in the open
been waiting all night
Closer I crept
planning a strategy for days
not a feeble attempt
nothing to get in the way
Over the fence
scampering quietly in the grass
nothing will defeat me
getting the prize at last
No one around
the BB gun is gone
bypassing the slinky
there is a task to be done
Grabbing the feeder
the seed tastes so fine
gathering up a cheek full
all of it is mine
The humans are asleep
dreaming in a quiet slumber
the prize is mine
it is a great number
Over the fence
scampering to the park again
remembering this strategy
today is a win
