The Savage Wilderness

snow capped mountain alaska

The savage wilderness

on this spring day

cold and wild

as we make our way

Snow is melting

plants awake again

beautiful colors emerging

animals exit their den

An inhospitable environment

speaks of wonder anew

life begins to thrive

on the spring’s dew

The river ice is melting

turning the water blue

canoeing across

creating a path anew

Wonder for all to see

as the seasons change

a living planet’s beauty

within our eyes range

God provides for us

in this savage land

meeting all our needs

on a planet so grand
