A bastion of hope
the cardinal sings
there are messages
from Heaven he brings
A far off place
visits from those that have departed
bright red feathers
love has not been discarded
Not far away
there is a nest
a bastion of protection
little ones rest
Landing in a tree
observing the world in a branch
seeking new adventures
continuing to advance
Flying away
a visit to ponder
smiles on faces
spirit comforted with wonder
