The tree was skewed
representing life
a beautiful image
of perseverance and strife
Its struggles were many
a testament to time
still living fully
never sublime
Having seen battles
poor land management
it lives in the moment
present as a testament
The sun filters through
it has been saved
now living healthy
there are many who gave
It has inner beauty
birds make a nest
singing happy songs
helping the tree to rest
Meditation over
marveling at God’s grace
joyful in survival
at life’s race
