There is such beauty
in the water and sky
a gift bestowed upon me
there is no reason why
Water shimmering
reflections in the sun
birds surrounding me
squirrels in a playful run
Taking time to invest
in the preservation of the bayou
inhaling the clean air
my spirit is new
A fish jumps
grasses swaying in the breeze
beaver building a dam
life is at ease
Many gifts are bestowed
in this natural habitat
heightened awareness of senses
a broken branch sounds like a bat
Rain falling now
a cleansing smell
my spirit is renewed
all is well
