Inefficient in the beginning
the young goslings make their way
learning to survive
on this beautiful day
Drinking from the puddle
waddling in the mud
playing with each other
landing with a thud
The lessons come
learning to fly and swim
filled with fun and fear
nothing on a whim
There are spectators
cheering as they go
filled with laughter
going with the flow
The time has come
to leave the nest
having learned to survive
life is the test
It is a new day
the geese are now grown
taking what they have learned
into the unknown
