You left five years
ago today
such an abrupt departure
a large part of my heart went away
Your spirit lingers
blowing in the breeze
autumn colors in the landscape
whistling in the leaves
A jay visits the feeder
the color of the blue in your eyes
playfully jumping around
then rising to the sky
Thinking you I smile
with redness in my cheeks
my heart grows larger
slowly each week
Autumn aromas
scents from a loving past
leaves with love letters
love continues to last
An autumn pear
falls from your tree
a reminder of wonderful times
drawing you closer to me
Together our spirits rise
riding a bicycle in the sky
a promise made long ago
true love never dies

The following video is from an adventure Bill and I had at cypress swamp on the Natchez Trace in 2017. It was a beautiful day and the calmness of the swamp still captures my spirit. Fly high my love.
