Meditation on a Winter’s Morning


Inventing a ritual

to calm my wayward emotions

feeling the need to recharge

with daily devotion


Sitting on the porch

with water flowing in a fountain

promoting peace and tranquility

streaming from an emotional mountain


Closing my eyes

letting go of all pain

watching flow into a river

so much to gain


Next letting go of anger

and all of its stress

little red rapids

no more distress


Feeling a smile

happiness and contentment remain

opening my eyes to the sun

with a new perspective that reigns


Meditation over

listening to the birds sing

the journey continues

time to spread my wings
