Meditation on a Winter’s Morning

Inventing a ritual

to calm my wayward emotions

feeling the need to recharge

with daily devotion

Sitting on the porch

with water flowing in a fountain

promoting peace and tranquility

streaming from an emotional mountain

Closing my eyes

letting go of all pain

watching flow into a river

so much to gain

Next letting go of anger

and all of its stress

little red rapids

no more distress

Feeling a smile

happiness and contentment remain

opening my eyes to the sun

with a new perspective that reigns

Meditation over

listening to the birds sing

the journey continues

time to spread my wings

  1. I could get on board with a ritual such as this, if it was yearly. Maybe a little more often.

    Seriously, great poem, Debbie.
