listening to the sounds

a child stops on a bridge

others quickly gather around

In a line

the telephone game began

giggles abound

as the message ran

I heard the message

as it echoed in the wind

the leaves are colorful

telling the child to send

Whispers continue

going ear to ear

giggles with each message

difficult to hear

Reaching the last child

time to hear what was sent

the message said

the colors are bent

A childhood game

lesson is learned

the more a message is spread

the meaning can get burned
