The Canvas

Adding the trinket

expelled from the trees

a special box

filled with leaves

Pasted on the canvas

an expression of self

the child was excited

her muse was an elf

Enchanted stories

filled her mind

beauty is everywhere

all life is intertwined

The canvas hangs

in a treasured place

memories of childhood

that can’t be erased

Now an adult

a family appears

the canvas is still special

the muse is still dear

Surrounded by grandchildren

the canvas comes down

stories of innocence told

having found common ground

  1. The thoughts and feelings shared by many an artwork owner especially if it was painted or gifted by a family member. Very inspiring, well done.

  2. Sounds like around here when my kids would bring home trinkets and wonders from the bush home. Thanks for joining in Debbie 🙂 🙂
