Fishing Day

Fishing upon the lake

the sun my nemesis for the day

pole out in the water

small current leading the way

Pulling sunscreen out

of my fishing bag of junk

slathering it on my face

smelling like a skunk

Leaning on my seat

living with a paradisiac view

baiting my pole

my spirit is renewed

My bobbin goes down

playing with a fish

he’s fighting hard

going to make a delightful dish

Coming up now

a small fishing shack

place to get out of the sun

take in a beer and a snack

Break over

continuing to float down the lake

the sun beginning to go down

time to end my escape

On shore

onloading all my gear

has been a wonderful day

peaceful sleep is near

Thank you. A cane pole with a minnow as bait is relaxing and easy. The minnow does the majority of the work. I catch and release these days but it is always fun to pull a fish in. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
