Looking back the night had been electrifying. The audience was up in a roar as the fireworks lit up the sky. The climax of the concert had been met with a fifteen minute call for an encore. It was one of the highlights of my career.
Now sitting alone on stage I have reverted to my primative state. Softly strumming on the guitar my spirit reflects upon meaning in life. The music resonates with each drag on the cigarette.
Traversing through time each note reflects various periods of my life. As a young child the guitar set the rhythm of life. The unfairness of the world reflected with each strum. Every day a new challenge would lead to new musical compositions.
As a teen and young adult the passions of love and loss were reflected in the alternative music of the day. A diversity of people attended my performances and were put in a trance. The music was a spiritual experience allowing them to escape life.
Now in my older years an entire lifetime has passed before me. The music now takes me to new realm. Through the smoke I can see eternity and all of its glory. Yet there is a small door with light that beckons me.
The small door becomes bigger as the music begins to wind down. Walking through the door I begin floating on the final musical notes. The end is wonderful as peace envelopes me as I sail down the stream on my guitar.
