Quintessential red roses

sparkled in the morning sun

gregarious in the garden

welcome sight on my run

 

Soon the bees joined them

dancing to a happy tune

doing a line dance

as the crickets crooned

 

Other bugs stepped in

the garden is shining bright

many different flowers

now glowing in the light

 

Summer shower

cool rain on my skin

joining in the excitement

dancing on a whim

 

Time to take a rest

sitting in the shade

observing the birds

picking berries to trade

 

A squirrel joins me

continuing the morning run

throwing him some berries

smiling in the sun
