Identical blades of grass
swaying in the wind
birds diving down
causing it to bend
Nature has an identity
marked with every move
each creature has a hand
in making it groove
Every drop of water
adds to the atmosphere
giving similar sustenance
to all who live here
The blades of grass
provide shelter and food
from the nurturing water
for a bird and her brood
The banks provide a place
for an alligator to rest in the sun
opening it’s eyes
to see a squirrel run
Meditation over
admiring uniform shapes
everything has a purpose
in the landscape

The alligator has to eat, but I hope the squirrel gets away.
It was the squirrels lucky day in the bayou. He was jumping in the trees a safe distance from the alligator. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
