Enrolled in a course
to learn the history of this place
surrounded by natural beauty
learning at my own pace
This canyon was carved
by a river long ago
strong water falls and currents
nature’s great flow
There are native people
who settled on the banks
having a unique culture
food from the water they drank
There is much wildlife
in this desolate land
working together to thrive
in the canyon sand
There is something spiritual
as the rain falls from the sky
providing a stunning rainbow
a feast for the eye
Meditation over
becoming one with the land and sun
marveling as history is made
this journey is fun
