Beauty in the darkness

bright moon in the sky

black fading in the background

contrast to the nigh

 

A wonderful backdrop

illuminating light each night

generations wonder

what makes the sky so bright

 

The darkness of the sky

filled with planets and stars

spurns the imagination

about places so far

 

My soul grows

filled with delight

listening to tales of adventure

in the twilight

 

Is there life elsewhere

in the great universe

what lurks in the darkness

is it filled with song and verse

 

Grateful for the black night

highlighting objects everywhere

a sense of wonderment

the sky is never bare

 

My soul rests now

rejoicing in the cool breeze

dreaming of world’s beyond

resting with ease
