Glancing around tentatively
with his deep blue eyes
searching for the flowers
beautiful place to survive
Spotting the plant
next to the porch
he quickly darts around
carrying a torch
Quickly turning green
trying to blend
oh the splendor
it’s a trend
A fly comes too close
he grabs it with his tongue
a fast lizard
he is young
Next to the water
in the gutter near the plant
rushing down the hill
turning to glance
Life is good
in this patio paradise
more flowers to explore
never thinking twice
