Students in the school house
time to recite again
going from class to class
where to begin
First is English
time to recite an adverb or two
trying to avoid the teacher
leaning down to tie a shoe
On to the next class
it is arithmetic
trying to solve a problem
listening to the clock tick
Then there is history
where has the time gone
reciting famous events
waiting for the bell tone
Finally a class to enjoy
music is in the air
the band practices outside
the day is cool and fair
Finally the bell rings
the day is at an end
reciting the weekend activities
with family and friends

You said it so well. For some it’s music class for some it’s maths class and everyone it’s the last bell for the weekend.
Thank you. That last bell for the weekend always made me smile. Thanks for reading.
Tried that shoe trick over and over, but it never worked. Fun poem. Thanks.
Thank you. It was fun to try the shoe trick.
Took me back, I resonated strongly with the clock ticking, my one constant.
Thanks for sharing. I tied my shoe a lot. Thanks for reading.
