Meditating on this summer day
how spicy are words in life
do words come from love
or from strife
Love is expressed
in many simple ways
a hug and a kiss
a compliment each day
Strife is expressed
in several forms
war, bullying, and harsh words
are the norm
Spicy from gossip
words which cause harm
hot off the press
cause for much alarm
Spicy from encouragement
lifts us up high
lead to loving words
from morning till nigh
Which words in life
set us free
kind and loving words
are the way for me
