A Summer Walk

petrified forest water path 2 april 14

Ambling upon a forest path

in the slow cool rain

my soul is meditating

so much to gain

In the coolness of the morning

rain trickles down the leaves

keeps me wondering

what is up nature’s sleeve

Each leaf has a specific pattern

an individual in life

the rain hits hard

causing it strife

The soil on the ground

filled with leaves and mud

stepping in puddles

jumping with a thud

The rain has stopped

a freshness in the air

peaceful in existence

reflections with a flair

There is harmony

meditation on this walk ends

the sun is shining bright

around the bend

  1. Stepping in the puddle..
Jumping with a thud.. Why we grown ups do that (or want to do that)? Hope you didn’t get Monday blues.. Great post…

    • Hi. Sometimes it is good to walk in the rain and let the inner child come out. In this case it was good just not to fall. LOL. Thank you for your kind words. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
