Ducks in the Park

ducks in strawberry patch park april 23

Ducks walking in the park

watching the people by day

dropping crackers on the path

as they go on their way

The ducks are happy

visiting this park

there is plenty of water

a place to nest after dark

They cringe at the sight

of the litter that people leave

taking away the beauty

damage to nature is believed

Our souls are renewed

when we take care of the land

picking up litter

giving the ducks a hand

The park is now clean

ducks swim and wonder

will care for the park continue

is something to ponder

God gave parks to us

a refuge that is beautiful indeed

keeping nature free of litter

is our choice to succeed

  1. I think “Caring for others” is your motto, and you sure are a thinker. But hold on those Red Bulls(pun intended) otherwise you will outpace us all in the writing department.. Take Care..

  2. Lovely poem and lovely sentiment. I think many don’t know what they can do to help or even believe their contribution will make little impact. I’m reminded of the story about the boy and the starfish, and though his efforts were not enough to save all the starfish littering the beach he said, “I made a difference to that one.” Small actions can have powerful effects, and your poem is a timely reminder for us all to do our part. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Piper, I know its not right to ask but have you by any chance disable the Comments Section in your Latest posts.. They have just magically disappeared for me..

    • Hi. I have family business to attend to these next few days and will be unable to answer comments. I turned them off for all my latest post for this reason. Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
