A True Loving Mississippi Story

One child 2 years old is lost

without a shoe in the street

traffic flowing

not missing a beat

Seen by one

running to save a life

another stopped to help

amid all the strife

A third person stops

calling the police

child standing with safe haven

sighing with relief

Another person stops

as we search for the child’s home

wanting to know how to help

the child is not alone

The police come

helping to figure it out

the child is calm

feeling safe and does not pout

Siblings arrive

rejoicing running up the street

the child had accidentally gotten out

following a dog with bare feet

People helping each other

not a thought given to religion or race

helping an innocent child

experience love instead of hate

Coping with Impossible Situations

This is a reblog my post that I wrote on August 29, 2017. Prayers for all and have a wonderful day!

Clouds 1

Storms come through

excessive wind and rain

impossible conditions

coming in like a train

Some people are good

ready to lend a helping hand

others are evil

taking advantage of the storm’s band

Impossible situations

difficult decisions to make

critics abound

praying for God’s grace

Finally it happens

a rash of good deeds

showing love and kindness

everyone taking the lead

Prayers are answered

hope is spread

food, clothing, and shelter

God is not dead

Impossible situations

God made us for these

faith, hope, and love

for these we are lead

Impossible situations

healing has begun

restoring communities

one by one

Hope: Antidote for Difficult Times

sun on river mountain 1

Panic spreads

throughout the land

a ravaging disease

fear of touching a hand

Fear is vicious

taking away people’s power

contagious darkness spreading

despair grows by the hour

The sun rises

it is a new day

an antidote grows

light is on the way

Rising out of the fear

through the light shines hope

love fights the fear

we learn to cope

Time passes

the disease appears to have no end

loving each other

we rely on friends

Hope is the antidote

causing the fear to bend

darkness is wiped out

Light wins in the end

Echo of Can you Spare a Dime

homeless bill standing may 6

The streets are silent

except the echo of a man

can you feed me

difficult to live on the land

He had a bugaboo

shining in the light

seeing me near

it suddenly was put out of sight

Nervously walking up

thankful it is him and not me

giving him a bag with necessities

and some fast food for free

The man weaved a tale

of how life began on the streets

so compelling

of strife and defeat

Still there is hope

as he crossed the street

walking into a shelter

relief from the heat

The shelter offers services

volunteers with skills to help

perhaps one day he will accept them

a life change will be felt

The world for humans ended long ago. The volcano erupted causing food and water to go away slow. Time healed the Earth as the sun was allowed back in. Plants and animals in hiding came back thin.

Resources became abundant without the help of man. The old building provided materials and new life for the place. The cisterns were filled water from the rain. Tiny fish began to fill the drain.

Plants grew covering the walls. There were flowers and animals in the hall. New communities formed as the animals claimed their space. Storms reshaped the soil as new rivers began to race.

Walls began to fall as the trees began to grow. Soon there was a waterfall where air vents used to flow. The sun continued to shine where there once was a roof. Life was now abundant where there was only soot.

One day in a small crevice humanity reappeared. A group of nomads came from a place that had disappeared. Seeing the beauty and abundance in this new place, the humans began to build at a rapid pace.

As the years pass the buildings begin to decay. The humans have moved on as is their way. Another catastrophe happens and it all begins again.

Does history continue to repeat itself and does the environment ever win?

Incubate: Tracks of Life

IMG_4957

The tracks are empty

in the early morn

having been incubated

we are now  born

The tracks continue

in many directions

how we live

is merely a reflection

Some go the way

of love and kindness

a calling to all

these are timeless

Others go another way

tracks with violence and hate

filled with holes and darkness

the train is always late

Pulling into the station

awaiting another train

which path will be chosen

what is the best gain

Meditation over

admiring the beautiful surround

choosing life over death

joy is abound

Hope For Friends Filled With Pain

Clouds 1

This has been a sad week for a few friends of mine. They have lost children to suicide.  This poem is an attempt to let them know that we care and wish to mushroom love around them.

I feel your sadness

intertwined with pain

loved ones who have left

there is no gain

So young

filled with pain of their own

not knowing what to do

now they are gone

Lost communication

trials till the end

each expressing  pain

trying hard not to give in

Death won this round

leaving sadness in its wake

families are crying

some are beginning to shake

There is hope

as friends and family gather round

knowing they will be together

when the veil is unbound

God grants us grace

to continue to live on

He holds our departed loved ones close

protecting their souls from harm

One glorious day

we will hold each other again

in God’s mighty kingdom

where pain and suffering will never win
