Life on Earth Day

The waters and land separated

life entered the land and seas

each with a purpose

there were no guarantees

Reflections of beauty

mirrored in a lake

a paradise unspoiled

promises to undertake

Caring for the land

enough resources for all

the spring of creation

before the great fall

Dust and pollution

greed across the land

wars spilling blood

destroying what was grand

Hope arises

each creature has a choice

to take small actions

to have a voice

The end is near

the Earth cries out

you are made from me

live in paradise or die without
