On a road trip
dressed in classic fashion
came upon a roadside stand
with a buy now call to action
I was easy prey
with a distorted view of the west
perfect target for old boots
wanting to look my best
Praying the boots would fit
as the clerk took them down
dreaming of the old west
while looking around
Now my outfit was complete
pulling into a tourist saloon
smiling at my table
looking like a buffoon
Hearing people snicker
some just outright laughing
my road trip was now complete
taking photos with local staffing
Home now
back in the future
the past was fun
it was cooler
