Walking in the cotton field
suddenly came a prescient warning
past and present colliding
the future transforming
Among the crop
fleeting images appeared
singing as they worked
the lyrics seemed weird
The story of a greyhound
running in the wind
defying a blockage
choosing for the bondage to end
Making sporadic jumps
over thick obstacles in the field
freedom secured
and his fate sealed
Images disappear
as the story came to an end
opting to let me ponder
the moral with a grin
Time passes
there is new bondage in the land
mining for cobalt
which is in great demand
In the mines
the story is told again
through dusty masks
will the greyhound ever truly win
