1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.
The wind is blowing
and the night is cold
yet there is Light
fulfillment of a promise of old
New life
Light in a baby’s cry
promise of redemption
in a world gone awry
With God in the beginning
through whom all things are made
every thought known
life is portrayed
The darkness in the world
attempts to put the Light out
trials and tribulations
continuing to place doubt
Still the Light persists
growing within those who believe each day
praising God above
as the Light paves the way

Thank you for overcoming the darkness in this world and giving us hope. May the Light never be put out.
