In the midst of the kudzu
the satyr plays a tune
inducing a trance
bringing some to doom
Captives toil away
unable to escape
bound by a spell
dreaming while awake
A place filled with deception
beets that taste like wine
rocks that appear to be gold
lyrics stating you are mine
On occasion one
will be set free
a sword fight to the end
bringing the satyr to his knees
The cycle begins again
with the rising of the sun
if you hear music in the kudzu
turn around and run

Brilliant! 🙂 loved it! ❤
Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
This reminds me of a book called, “The Ruins”, by Scott Smith. I don’t know if you’ve read it, or seen the movie, but it’s pretty scary about a mysterious vine that lures people in. 🙂
Good morning. I have not read it or seen the movie. That does sound like a cool, scary mysterious book. I will have to find and read it. Thank you. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
You’re welcome! Hope your weekend is off to a great start. 🙂
Kudzu shadows are dark and foreboding.
I agree. North Mississippi has a lot of kudzu along the roads. It can be quite intimidating driving along the road at night. Never know what will appear out of the shadows. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
