In a contemporary yard
the battle begins
hummingbirds ping pong around
which one will win
Aerial maneuvers
neither easily cabined
such skill
difficult to imagine
One flies off
while the other drinks
only to return
and try to interlink
Swatted off
the two battle again
taking turns drinking
then riding the wind
The battle ends
each having their fill
flying off into the woods
till the next drill
