The cloudy mist
exacerbates the stream
looking frothy as air
a perfect holiday dream
Smells of marzipan
on the table
a fire warms the room
feeling grateful
Out the window
a deer in the woods
glancing before running
feeling understood
Friends arrive
bringing some cider
laughing at stories
tall tales spread wider
Sitting down to eat
giving thanks through grace
plates filled to the rim
leaving no space
Feeling full
eyes begin to close
friend playing a guitar
lulling me into a doze
Awakening now
surrounded by ones whom I love
feeling popcorn
thrown from above
Time to leave
been a beautiful celebration
glorious memories to carry
until the next occasion
