Through the mist

came a guttural cry

having slid down the rocks

afraid it may die

Rain coming down

causing slime to develop

slippery where ivy frays

Coming to rescue

is the animal’s mate

slowly hanging on

to a nature wall plate

Extending a paw

together they rise

reaching safety

that is verbalized

Disappearing in the mist

on the to the next adventure

there is a rainbow in the falls
