I perambulated on the path

intrigued by the clouds

then a sudden fall

the shout is quite loud

A tirade about

the lack of sight

hypoxic and in pain

the future did not look bright

Another hiker came

and picked me up

taking me out of the clouds

into a first aid setup

After recovering

ready to try again

this time taking precautions

for when the air is thin

Reaching the top

feeling a thrill

all expectations met

a dream has been fulfilled

Beginning descent

absorbing the complete scene

heart filled with gratitude

spirit is serene

On the bottom

mountain shielded again

knowing the secrets

adventure a win
