In a whimsical contest
to see who could circle the world
a bright light appeared
a colorful path unfurled
Jumping aboard
the colorful path
an optional choice
not knowing how long it would last
The adventure began
competition left behind
so many mysteries
excitement to find
Crossing each continent
observing deserts and trees
so much wildlife
flowers filled with bees
The people were fun
inviting me to learn their culture
each was unique
cities and agriculture
The path took me to the stars
each telling a story
some very bizarre
others full of glory
At the finish line
the race is over
having circled the world
living life slower
The light path disappears
the sky is dark
now am wiser
than I was at the start
