Digesting information

that was hard to hear

the man looked around

with an intense loneliness to bear

Capitulating

to a shorter life

the disease was taking over

causing him strife

A chance reflection

caused him to look up

as if a miracle had happened

a vision through a plastic cup

Balloons in the sky

floating freely

no pain or loneliness

life looked easy

His spirit soared

realizing this was not the end

in a brief time

he would be with friends

A group of balloons

gathered closer together

colorful and beautiful

light as a feather

The old man smiled

knew when his days were done

love and family would be there
