The assignment was to
find a new universe in the light
hidden from us
but still in plain sight
Filled with dazzling illusions
the beta fish lived in a bowl
there were mountains and valleys
even specks of gold
He swam around exploring
swimming quickly with delight
around fast corners
his gills glittering in the light
A small universe
filled with life
the fish owns the world
there is no strife
Universes exist
in every small thing
all we need to do is look
and enjoy the wonders that they bring

Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks.
I had a red betta when I moved to Vermont almost 30 years ago. He didn’t dig it much, but he hung on for about a year before I had to flush him.
Nice work, this piece. Salute.
Thank you. Betta fish are fun to watch . I have had several through the years. Have a wonderful day!
