The abrupt peak was daunting
difficult to climb
in the early morning
an adventure for my body and mind
Slowly climbing
feeling the beating of my heart
anticipation of the trail
difficult from the start
The dew is melting
cooler in the higher elevation
changes in scenery
more barren in this creation
Reaching the top
taking in the world around
miles of mountain beauty
sky and land astound
My spirit reflects
on the difficult climb
stronger in faith
in this life of mine
Meditation over
grateful for God’s grace
spirit is renewed
as the sun shines on my face
