Darkness quivers

the scene of ghoulish delight

so many victims

takes this night to new heights

 

Beady eyes

wings spread wide

silently landing on victims

taking blood from the inside

 

Ever so quickly

before they can swat

a liquid filled treat

so many on the block

 

Making one more round

before the night turns cold

eyes that were once dark

now the color of gold

 

Being an insect

travelling through the dark

making way back to the nest

filled with Halloween spark
