A River in Motion

waterfall structure

The river expresses itself

in many different ways

through the valleys

on any given day

 

At the mouth

so tender and wide

there is calm here

with wildlife by its side

 

Going down further

the land begins to narrow

slow soft rapids

having small stones to swallow

 

Stretching further 

into the land

water falling down 

sounding like a band

 

Stretching through the seasons

ice has begun to form

beautiful sculptures

remaining till it is warm

 

Water expresses itself

with a sense of emotion

happiness and anger

depending on the motion

 

A part of nature

so beautiful to behold

rejoicing in life

precious now as in days of old
