Sweet tea

the wine of the South

along with decadent treats

sweet to the mouth

 

 

A wonderful sunny afternoon

enjoying a glass of sweet cold tea

such wonderful memories

of stories told to me

 

Tales of  a party

in a story of old

tea thrown overboard

high taxes to withhold

 

 

An elderly woman

reading the tea leaves

telling of the future

each leaf that she sees

 

Then the story

with a rabbit and mad hatter

a wonderful tea party

imagination in the matter

 

Drinking sweet tea

cooling on this summer day

reading short stories

enjoying life this way
