Fun Childhood Memory

Happy Halloween! This is my favourite Halloween show. Charles Shulz was a genius who could spread life and morals through this characters. This remains one of my happy places.

There was a pumpkin patch

where the moon light was bright

Linus brought a friend

to wait in the night

It was spooky

in the mist

waiting with Sally

was pure bliss

The others

had such fun

trick or treating for candy

getting to run

Charlie had fun

collecting rocks

always getting the trick

with each block

Snoopy battled the

world war one flying ace

on his flying house

getting shot down with grace

Violet’s party

Snoopy grappled

hiding in water

kissing Lucy bobbing for apples

In the end it was Snoopy

who stole the show

rising out of the pumpkin patch

causing Linus to grow

Really irate

Linus rants to all

finding a sincere pumpkin patch

will cause Santa to fall

Halloween Story: A Petrified Soul

petrified wood april 14

The night is cold as the petrified wood transforms. One night a year the soul is released and allowed to warm. Once transformed the soul walks again. Travailing the earth looking for redemption from within. The tale began one cold October night in a forest with the full moon bright.

A man encountered an extraterrestial who was dressed in bright light. His name was Morning Star and he had an interesting proposition. In exchange for immortality the man was to impart wisdom. Morning Star sought to enslave humans. His knowledge was limited by some confusion. How are some humans able to overcome temptation? Is there some magic that can be cast as persuasion?

The man replied: “Don’t you know that from the beginning of time there are those who walk with the Light all the time?” Morning Star answered “of course there a few who have found the way. I am looking for how to make them sway.”

The man replied ” Take their minds away from gratitude for all that they have. Make them desire all material things good and bad. If you breed discontent among them then all will come to serve you. ”

Morning Star laughed and thought could it really be so simple to cause humans to crumble. Is discontentment really the way to make them stumble? Given this knowledge Morning Star begins to leave and imparts the man with immortality.

The man is shocked when he is turned into a tree. Petrified his soul is as cold as can be. Now marble with no room to grow, the man is terrified with what he has sowed.

Once a year there is a chance of release. The man’s spirit is allowed to spread a message of redemption and peace. If the world takes hold and accepts the true Light , then the man’s soul will be released from its plight.

Years have passed and discontent continues to grow. How long it last no one knows.  Will the world change so he can be free or will he continue as marble without hope for eternity?

Halloween Horror: Nightmare

rocky spring cemetery april 28

This is a different type of story than what I usually write. After having read some horror stories I thought it would be fun to try and write one. This is a one time story and I will return to my normal writing style. If you do not like horror please do not read this story. Have a wonderful day! Happy Halloween!

Halloween Horror Story

The night is dark and the moon is full. The wind blows through the trees making each branch appear as if possessed by an angry spirit. Getting ready for bed there is a feeling of deep anxiety. Would the dream repeat itself again as it had each month on this date. The dream is always the same without resolution.

My grandfather calls to me within the depths of my soul. Waking in the small bedroom in the back of the house the darkness is stifling. Outside the window the wind howls and tree branches hit the window causing a screeching sound. Goosebumps appear on my arms as I  walk through the house. There is a low deep voice beckoning me through the kitchen to the side door out to the garage. Suddenly a skeleton jumps out of the floor in front of me. A silent scream comes out of my mouth as my running legs carry me into the back yard. Another skeleton jumps out in front of me as a tree limb attempts to grab me. My gown is torn as I struggle to become free. Sweat rolling down my red cheeks and tears sting my eyes as I continue to run. The howling wind now contains rain from the thunderstorm. My soul is tormented as the lightening strikes near the newly dug grave of my grandfather. He is calling and begging me to release him from the eternal hole.

The hole is continuous and there is no light. Feeling light headed the energy from the hole draws me in. Continuously falling searching for the lost soul of my grandfather there is no end in sight. Coldness reigns as the rain pelts down on my tender skin being scratched by the roots sticking out. I am screaming for forgiveness and redemption. The dream ends with me in my bed waking in terror.

This dream was continuous for many years. This Halloween horror finally ended after the death of my grandmother. Resolution of the dream is up in the air. Forgiveness and redemption or Fire and Hell? Only time will tell.

Happy Halloween!
