Walking into the shadows
the light appeared to fade
challenges of the times
caused the young man’s body to decay
Energy zapped
still the spirit continued to grow
navigating the obstacles
with little material gains to show
Time passed
the sun began to shine
stooped over now
the shadow as an old man
Life ebbed out
spirit began to lift
now as a child
as the perspective shift
Flying into the clouds
with the help of the doves
spirit expands into eternity
happy and filled with love

hey Piper nice to see you again
Thank you. It’s nice to write again. Elderly caregiving duties have kept me busy these past few months. Things are more stable and hopefully I will be able to write on a more regular basis. Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day!
Lovely. I’ve missed your posts recently, and I’m glad to see you back!

Thank you. The picture was a fun inspiration to write a poem. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
It wasn’t until I read your poem that I even noticed the shadow! It’s interesting how we see different things. A nice little journey you took us on. 👏
Thank you. Yes, it’s interesting how different our perspectives are on things. It makes the journey so much more enjoyable. Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
You too 💕
I like how the perspective shifts to that of the child in the end. It reminds me of these verses: “Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:2-4 NLT
Thank you. It does remind me of those verses as well. Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day!
