The dreary day began to brighten
as the pristine snow fell
long winded conversations about the world
left me feeling unwell
Walking in the snow
the beautiful deer appeared
lifting his head in contentment
it felt weird
Legend has it
to those who breathe in the wind
that a lion will send courage
perhaps this deer will win
In a world filled with fear
tempted to lie down and die
this deer is a symbol
of those just getting by
Following the example
I lifted my head to breath
suddenly in the wonder
all troubles seemed to ease
Taking in with contentment
living without fear
grateful for this moment
holding it dear
Walking away
having learned a lesson
each moment is a gift
spirit only as to listen
