Daily writing prompt : How do you use social media?

Like sands through an hourglass

so is social media

valiant writers seizing the day

an exciting encyclopedia

Some are misleading

exaggerating the truth

frightening the masses

quite uncouth

Others flow in the wind

taking a flight with the birds

sailing with the clouds

stating facts seldom heard

Quenching a thirst for entertainment

fantastic stories are told

knights in shining armor

people searching for gold

Fighting the urge

to let it all go

there is a possibility

for a slight chance to grow

Limiting time on social media

a brief respite after lunch

taking information with a grain of salt

while drinking Hawaiian punch

  1. haha True! There’s always something interesting to see/read, and we get drawn in. Whether any is true, or not, or just exaggerated, it’s all fun. Taking a break doesn’t last long though, because we’re afraid we’ll miss something. 🙂

  2. How do we use Social Media? I joined Facebook in the mid-2000s and have joined every one of the platforms over time. But it all changed when the masses came on board and spoilt it. I was alarmed at how obsessed people became with checking their ‘socials’ as they became known. I couldn’t understand the need. I became bored, so I walked away.

Then, I discovered a different social network, started blogging, and found an incredible global community of diverse and interesting people.

Thank you for sharing your post with our Flow challenge. 🙂

    • I agree. Facebook, Instagram, and twitter have changed since the masses came on board. Mostly drama and not very appealing.

I was happy to find WordPress and be able to write.

I enjoy blogging especially the global community and interesting people. Blogging is the one hobby that I have been able to keep up for the last 7 years. So much fun.

My pleasure. Your word prompts are always fun. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful day!
