In the majestic swamp
an old tree lived
now only gray bark remains
it’s story hid
Once the land was dry
thriving with fresh air
wildlife and birds surrounded the tree
some climbing up if they dared
For centuries
the land remained untouched
a beautiful thriving world
stories to be discussed
Then an event
caused the land to change
now a swamp claims it
an adaptation of the range
The tree transformed
now all that remains is bark
still beautiful in death
home to creatures of the dark
From deep roots
life emerges again
on a trace of land
where the dryness is thin
As the sapling grows
a call carries through the wind
wildlife and flowers blossom
another cycle begins
