The battle rages

separating the weak from the strong

a soldier running

the path is long

Bombs exploding

death is at hand

will the young man die

in a foreign land

Enemy close

diving into a cave

situation appears hopeless

trying to be brave

Trying to persuade God

to save his life

so much left to do

with a beautiful wife

Suddenly a spider appears

weaving a new web

covering the cave entrance

flawless like fine thread

Enemy at entrance

shouting no one here

spider web sparkles

hiding what is near

Enemy passes

man is safe in the light

thanking God for all things

before leaving in the night
