Sitting on a fence
the swallow begins to sing
symptomatic changes of weather
as sirens ring
Take cover
calm between the storms
a tornado is coming
stronger than the norm
Sounding like a train
tornado getting stronger
swallow moves on
can’t stay any longer
Spouting in the water
moving along a path
finally receding into the clouds
leaving signs of its wrath
People emerge
no one is harmed
a wonderful relief
everyone heeded the alarm
The sun shines
the swallow sings a happy song
community working together
bonds are strong
Community restored
there is a celebration
living in harmony
in the nation
