The Old Bell

In the midst of nudiustertian

wresting the tree limb

the old bell nudged

sounding a note from a hymn

The wind howls

as the tower gets an overhaul

power washing the bricks

mold now gone from summer rainfalls

The bell is stunning

surrounded by oak and maple trees

brilliant yellow and red leaves

swaying in the breeze

The brass on the bell

gets a cleaning

dirt and grime are removed

now shining brightly with the sun beaming

The bell rings again

as it has for two hundred years

its melodious sound

continues to bring joy to all who hear
