A deep fissure

along the canyon wall

nebulous water flowing

the mystery of it all

 

Going deeper

a wonderous world unfolds

sun beams of color

a story being told

 

New life

living on the edge

fighting for survival

in between a wedge

 

Small animals appear

looking for relief

sun beams down

heat beyond belief

 

Within the fissure

water begins to evaporate

a short lifespan

how did life rate

 

Nebulous water disappears

without a sign or trace

carving more of the fissure

more beauty awaits

 

The canyon is alive

so much nourishment to give

helping all creatures

with a life well lived
