A scorch mark on the table
defined the high stakes
the vampire and the mortal
blood or money to take
Eyes in a hypnotic state
winner take all
hands tightly clasp
who will take the fall
A cautionary tale
to anyone willing to take a risk
strength of the mind and body
breathing is brisk
Swaying arms to the left
and then to the right
crowd is tense
at the sight
A moment of silence
vampire is stunned
mortal slams his hand
grabs the money and runs
Grabbing the bottle of red devil
gulping it down
vampire turns into a bat
chasing the mortal through town
Night becomes day
as the sun begins to rise
mortal takes his winnings
and the vampire cries
