Sounds were muffled
as the parade began across town
bands are playing
St. Patrick in his royal gown
Spirit merging with the day
filled with delight
carrying green roses
with emeralds shining in the sun light
Parade getting closer
heart beating to the sounds of the drums
dancing to the music
joined together as one
Sitting outside a pub
toasting with a green beer
singing Irish songs
day is bright and clear
Getting up
dancing a jig
people are happy
a few wearing a wig
St. Patrick extending blessings
to all who can hear
there is joy in the air
spring is good this year
Celebrations of spring
complete with a four leaf clover
there is excitement in the air
winter is over
